Have you ever considered the fun to be had by spray painting yourself then standing as still as possible for 4 hours out on the street? Well, that’s exactly what 100s of individuals taking part in the annual world statues festival in Arnhem, The Netherlands were doing yesterday!
I went along out of curiosity and the expectation of some good photo opportunities and I was not disappointed. So many of the statues reacted to the camera it was brilliant (if not a little bit embarrassing at times!)
With professional, amateur and kids categories there were loads of performers to watch and photograph. This is rather an image loaded post, but I hope you enjoy the colours and get a feel for the fun and atmosphere of the event.
I absolutely loved these guys. They were sat up there with fishing rods and on the end of their lines were fish sweets that they were encouraging the kids to grab with their teeth – it was a lot of fun.
There were lots painted to look like old statues – these are some of my favourites.
A brilliant event, and I look forward to making it to the night event as well next year!
Go on then….which is your favourite?
