Keukenhof – The big picture (after the crowds have gone!)

Keukenhof is a stunning flower garden in The Netherlands (Holland). However, due to its popularity, trying to photograph the beautiful gardens with a wide angle image in mind was not something i’d ever even bothered in my previous 5 visits before last weekend. However, this time we decided to try entering the park later and staying till close – that did the trick! We were rewarded with peace and tranquility for about our last hour – the sun went low and the light in the park was gorgeous.

I was totally bowled over at the planting deigns, the colour combinations and the millions of bulbs that must have been planted for this very short 6 week display each year! This season is nearly over, so enjoy these beautiful tulips from Amsterdam (or fairly close anyway!) – Detail and close up shots of flowers and bulb fields to come in other blog posts.
