Two images shortlisted to the final six in the ‘Landscape’ category from over 10,000! Wowee! Getting out of bed at 5am to take these has paid off!
Those of you who have followed my blog and my journey over the last couple of years will know I have achieved some fantastic results with The Guild of Photographers Image Of the Month competitions and annual awards.
I was awarded the ‘All round’ photographer of the year title two years running for 2012 and 2013, and I also attained the runner-up award for the open category in 2013.
In 2014 I have taken a break from trying to retain my title for a 3rd year running to attain my craftsman’s qualification with the Guild – which I did in May last year. An achievement I never imagined in my wildest dreams trying to attain, let alone actually doing it! Although I’ve not chased for an annual title, I’ve still entered some images into the monthly awards throughout the year with much success.
So it was with much surprise that I received news last week that not one, but two of my awards have been shortlisted for ‘the image of the year’ awards. Out of over 10,000 images entered each year, two of my images have been selected into the final 6 for the annual ‘Landscape’ photograph of the year. I’m absolutely delighted.
I’m not going to the awards this year, so it is with anticipation that I will wait until the 7th February to see how I do. Regardless of winning or not though; achieving 2 images in the final 6 is a brilliant achievement that I am proud of. I will let you know if there is more news to celebrate!
